knotical

knotical is an exhibition at welcome home in glasgow by lynn cockburn. lynn has just finished a residency there where she has been experimenting with macrame and the large scale hangings and interactive work she has created are stunning, using a colour palate of mainly whites: inspired by ageing spines of books.

a talented knitwear designer with a fabby label called a minute silence, she is interested in almost every traditional handcraft method and always curious to work in areas she is not accustomed to.

knotical runs until 11th april. more photos here and also on lynn's blog.

p.s the snow didn't wait until tomorrow - it's snowing here in glasgow now! bbbrrrrr!

bunny and bunting.

my cheery bunny and bunting easter cards can be purchased at welcome home in glasgow!

where have you gone spring? - it's cold and grey with more snow forecast for tomorrow!

tunnocked - part one

i am taking part in an exhibition at glasgow print studio, it is a celebration of the 120th anniversary of one of scotland's genuine icons and to honour the humble teacake, the caramel wafer and all things tunnock.

first i needed to draw my little illustration, and so with the help of my obliging little assistant orla i arranged a few teacakes on my lovely ikea cake stand. outtakes here!

a week of poppytalk

it's a wee bit early here in scotland to find many spring blooms so that's one of the reasons i only had a half hearted attempt to add some photos to poppytalk's spring colour week. i was really chuffed therefore when one of my photos was shown on the blog's highlights!

the best ever tea from here.

cool spring things: a gingham bow tote and a flock of beautiful porcelain swallows

i hope everyone is having a lovely weekend full of nice things.

talking poppytalk

congratulations to the many amazing talents that won a virtual award in 'the poppies' over at poppytalk. amongst my very favorite winners were studio violet, sandra juto and fine little day to name just a few. pop over to check out the other winners and runners up.

perhaps one day i will host my own award's on this blog? i shall call them the hyggelig's!

next week is spring colour week at poppytalk. i really enjoyed taking part in autumn colour week last year (spot my photo of biba in her pumpkin featured in 'orange' day!) so i am looking forward to searching for the following spring colours: monday-light pink, tuesday-chartreuse green, wednesday-yellow, thursday-purple and friday-robins egg blue. if you are going to take part happy snapping!
