kitty dish

how cute is this sweet wee plate that i recently rediscovered hidden away in my kitchen cupboards? i used to eat my dinner off it when i was a kiddy. it looks like someone used it for mixing paints on after that, and now my Kitty's use are using it as a water dish!

put on a happy face!

i fancy treating myself to a fabby sticker set that can change any old boring lightswitch into a happy face! (or one with a mustache!) they can be found at welcome home here in glasgow, if you want some too but don't live nearby, no worries you can get yours here for a mere six quid!

dearest johnnie

thank you for kindly sending me your spring brochure. however i would be most grateful if you stopped posting any out more to me for a while. i am skint and therefore cannot purchase anything from you. i know we go back a long way and i have taken much delight in 'better times' in getting a wee parcel from you through my letterbox. i hope we will once again become acquainted in the future, but really mr boden, i mean, come on stop teasing me with the things you know that have made me part with my pennies in the past, all these lovely stripy and spotty things i like, have you no shame! oh and you know that taking photos of your model's camping 'down at the farm' and wandering about downtown manhattan is going to make me want your 'must have' items even more. hope this is ok, and don't worry i'm sure my friend sheila will put in an order or two to keep you in business.

a little bit of hope

i have just added a few thing's to my etsy shop to help donate towards oxfam's haiti earthquake appeal including a sweet little babushka doll. i will add more soon. the proceeds of this brooch will buy a hygiene kit for a family. i have also donated this little cotton onzie to craft hope's etsy shop.

feeling grateful

i have just spent a few horrible day's with no running water or flushing loo due to burst frozen pipes. it made me realise that we are so lucky to take these things for granted when so much of the world can't. the stress of it all has faded into insignificance on hearing and seeing the terrible disaster in haiti.

i am busy making some things to sell in my shop (including wool felt jewelery and valentine's cards), for which i will donate a percentage of the sale so i can help in some small way (i hope to add them in a couple of days). juliane is already doing this with her beautiful doll hot water botttles, and lena has listed other designer's wanting to help.

some things that have cheered me up lately, letters from two very special little people, re learning to crochet again (and loving it!), beautiful roving wool colours, and watching this and this, both such amazing little videos.

birdy footprints

we have had more snow overnight. it's very cold here so lots of hot chocolate and cozy blankets are needed! i spotted some cute little birdy footprints in the snow today.

thanks to everyone who entered my givaway, i loved all your comments. here is the little bear i made for the winner, he has a cloud and raindrops and is my favorite one i have made. cissy tried to help me pick a name out the hat, and the winner is the wonderful art and ghosts. congrats - please email me your address and this little polar bear will come and keep you cozy!
